The Biomedical Research Scholars Match

A central mission of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is to ensure underrepresented youth have the ability to reach their full potential by building successful and rewarding college experiences and cultivating meaningful careers. The UNCF has a rich and storied history not only of championing the success of historically black colleges and universities and the students that attend them but also creating pipelines that help students transition from college into their chosen professions. The UNCF Ernest E. Just Life Sciences Initiative is an example of that effort, bridging the educational and professional for promising students who are pursuing careers in biomedical and applied science research.

UNCF is proud to partner with the National Matching Program (NMP) – a private, not-for-profit organization created to help organizations promote fair, equitable, and transparent selection processes for applicants and hiring/training groups.  The Biomedical Research Scholars Match offers students and internship sites a secure and confidential venue through which to identify preferences for internships to achieve the best selection outcome possible.

NMP is proud to partner with UNCF in support of the Ernest E. Just Biomedical Research Scholars Program, which connects students to biopharmaceutical companies and leading academic research centers through paid internships. Currently, the program offers internships in New York and Boston; plans are to expand to other cities and bio-hubs soon.
